Real Moments of Autism

Helping Faith's Autism

Awesome moment!

Faith Sherman's Creative Thinking Facebook Page

My girl is so talented... Socially and creatively this is awesome! How I love my girl... She wants to express herself.... :) ... Who would ever say no to that... I love the poster she made herself... She said "Even Autistic kids want to believe..."... Beautiful girl...

What Faith Recommends

Faith came to me and asked if she could recommend a few of the games, programs or idea's she might have on this site - so I thought it would be a great idea to share with others how she feels about the things she works on and plays on!

Roblox

"That Roblox is good for Autism - all I really want you to know!" Faith

I do like some of the format of the game, it truly used imagination and the virtual world helps her understand dynamic of interacting with people.  Some of it can be a big "Adult" with violence so it is suggested that you check and make sure it is right for you and your child.  It has been great for Faith and there is has been great things said about it for Autism - negative too so please do your research.  I will put a link that helps understand and explains how to install it below.   Faith has also bought the 6 month membership package.  She loves this which she earned for good behaviours.  They do have Roblox cards out there you can purchase at Walmart or Shoppers Drug Mart but Faith told me they are almost not worth the money as you dont get much for all the money you pay.  Something to consider.  Mom

 Minecraft

"I love MINECRAFT!" Faith

I do like some of the format of the game, it truly used imagination and the virtual world helps her understand dynamic of interacting with people.  Some of it can be a big "Adult" with violence, zombies, monsters but it does allow her to build - which is her quirk.  I gave her a test to make sure it did not affect her sleep or the game play was not something that bothered her but to this point - which has been months there has been no change in her behaviour because of violence or lack of sleep.  Night terrors are not occuring at this time, so it is suggested that you check and make sure it is right for you and your child. I am very careful about that stuff but I find the more trust I give her and the more I explain she does great knowing right from wrong.  It has been great for Faith and there is has been great things said about it for Autism - negative too so please do your research. She has a lot of classmates on this.  I will put a link that helps understand and explains how to install it below. There is a free trail - it is suggested you let them use that first.  I have purchased the full game for Faith as she earned it for good behaviours and she is very happy with it.  This is a one time payment of $30 - which I find quite reasonable as Roblox Builders Club was $30 for 6 months.  Too expensive if you ask me.  Mom

10 Totally Free Games like Minecraft

"I want to try all of them!" Faith

I do like some of these games.. Some of it can be a big "Adult" with violence so it is suggested that you check and make sure it is right for you and your child. They would be great for Faith as all of them are dedicated to the building.  Please take your time and check them all out and see if they would work for you and your child. Mom

Lego is great for every kind of therapy. Mom

 IPAD, IPHONE and IPOD
"I love the games and I do really good on them!" Faith

Wonderful games, some of them for younger children but some for older.  Some wonderful things to teach on them.  Mom
